From the AE:
Each January REALTORS have to pay their dues. Those invoices are sent out in November and we give you more than 2 months to pay them before we assess a late fee. But we continue to get phone calls at the last minute asking for payment plans or other accommodations. Would you ask your cable company that after holding on to a bill for 2 months? We try and be as flexible as we can, but we do have to make payments to the National Association and the State Association. We do offer a prepayment option each summer to help make things a little easier for you. Only about 30 members take advantage of that though.
We hear all kinds of stories about how much money these dues are. Not sure if you know how much of your dues stays with the Mid-State Association?? Your dues for 2019 were $535. The Mid-State part of that is $185. That’s it. And if you paid with a credit card, we get even less than that after the credit card fees are deducted.
That $185, together with the other members dues pays for everything we do all year. Pays the salaries of the staff, pays the rent, insurance, taxes, utilities, education classes and other programs, and much more that is needed to keep us up and running to do our best to help you out with your business.
With the merger of the MLS’s last year, our MLS Service Center Income has come to an end. Our finance committee did a wonderful job working up a budget for 2019 and included providing you with some fabulous member benefits.
So please remember if you need help with your dues, the time to ask is when you get the bill, not the day before it is due. We want to work with you to make things easier, but there comes a time when we are not able to do that.
Thank you for being part of our Association. We truly appreciate each and every member we have!!
Sue
